MEET JENNIFER IACOVINO
I started my career as a special education teacher. After several years, I still felt deeply committed to my students and their families, but was becoming frustrated by systems I felt powerless to change. When my own school had external thought partners that helped us make a shift toward a more collaborative, inclusive environment, amazing things happened. Students began to thrive, educators felt more connected, and our school community transformed. I knew then that I wanted to help other schools experience that kind of change. With over two decades in education, that’s what I’ve built my career purpose around.
Today, as a national consultant, I partner with educators and organizations across the country to design systems that are equitable, strategic, sustainable and people-centered. I’ve worked on large-scale federal research projects focused on what works, especially in rural contexts, because I know that every community has its own story, strengths, and needs. What stays constant is the need to elevate voices, build agency, and root change in the lived experiences of those at the heart of our school communities.
I’m also a mom navigating the same systems I support. I care deeply about making sure our schools are places where everyone belongs, contributes, and grows. I believe we share a collective responsibility to each other and to future generations to make that vision a reality.
